Dear Fellow-workers in Christ,
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. I pray the Lord is continuing to richly bless you each day. I meet so many people that are down because of fear. Maybe they lost their home, business or job but be assured God knows where you are and is at work in your life. Jesus looks after the birds of the air are you not more valuable than the birds? Jesus died for us and blessed us with all spiritual blessings. So by faith we can bring them into our lives. Faith and all spiritual gifts work by love. So fear and strife because of hard times only stops our faith and love from working on our behalf. Fear and faith work the same way. Fear believes the lie of the devil or the world and brings a result. Faith on the other hand is belief in the promise of God and that to will bring a result. Choose life that you and your children’s life can be blessed. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. PTL!!
After almost 40 years in the ministry God has never failed us even though we have failed him. 2 Timothy 2:13 If we are faithless, He remains faithful; for He cannot deny Himself. When we stumble He will always be there to pick us up! I received some letters recently that were a blessing to us.
Here are some excerpts: From a recent meeting: Thank you for sharing your wisdom and experience with me. I have used so many of the principles you taught. It has been an almost hourly experience at times. You are an inspiration to us. From someone I have known for sometime: I found your words so encouraging. Another letter from a friend of the ministry for about 35 years. . I have been waiting for an envelope to write you a check. I met you at Calvary Assembly when I started a new ministry selling Christian books at age 42. Your ministry taught me a lot – Thank you. It is always a blessing to hear from friends and people. These were all handwritten letters which is meaningful in this age of text, e-mail, and twitter.
We have a new priest in a new church in Toril. Deacon Jun was recently ordained a priest and will be leading the church in Toril as well as working in Davao . Like many of our priests in the USA Fr. Jun is bi-vocational as a school teacher. He just finished his master degree at Holy Cross seminary so he is a very hard worker and up to the task at hand. He has a lovely family consisting of a wife and 3 children. Pray for God to raise more leaders because the churches are really growing. We now have 3 churches established and 8 mission churches. The goal is to have 7 more mission churches by Advent.

Life Enhancement Mission with the children is producing very good results. At first they were disorderly, not dressed very well and not very clean. If you remember the early pictures of them and now look at them today. What a difference.
The same program is working with some of the older children. The acolytes are teaching them. They use the bible to teach English and they are doing very good. Of course as they get older they are showing off a little more. They are pictured here with 3 of our Acolytes Left to right Dominick, Christian and Greg.

We are starting this program in the other churches and communities. As you know as programs expand it takes more money so we need your help.
Speaking of additional expense, we just rented the rest of the property in Davao . We now have a better place for the children and the staff that lives in the church. The churches are self supporting but need some help when programs and churches expand. Everything has increased in cost, gas is about $4.00 a gallon, rice has doubled in the last few years and fruits and vegetables are very high because of the drought and inflation. I am asking you to consider helping us start these new projects. Since we closed our home in Davao I now have to stay in a hotel and the price is up every trip. This last trip Phyllis and Gina were faced with over $6,000.00 in bills they could not pay. Love of Jesus is in a very bad situation financially. Please pray for these needs and if possible send a check to the address above and you will be blessed.
.
Here are a few of our children from Mintal. M J in the middle always comes to me and tells me I love you Bishop, where is Mom Phyllis. They have a special liking for each other. As most of you know Phyllis is not traveling for a while and is getting some rest and doing much better but still needs your prayers.

The new church in Mintal. The crowd fills the side and street during mass. The addition was added by the members and they are looking for a bigger place.

We were going to have an outdoor meeting in Toril but it rained so the service was moved inside a house. It was packed and very hot but a great meeting. Father Jun and this group will grow very fast.
The last newsletter included a picture of our 2003 Corvette which brought some very unfavorable remarks. The Corvette cost the ministry not a penny but was really a gift from Phyllis’ father. The message of the Corvette was one of faith and never giving up your dreams. We are so need oriented in our giving we do not hear God when it comes to blessing someone or ministry if we think they have enough. King Solomon had so much they did not even count the silver but they still received. The promise of tithing is God will open the windows of heaven and pour you out a blessing you cannot contain. Because we were blessed with a Corvette does not mean Love of Jesus does not have needs. If I insulted you with the picture of the car or what I just wrote I apologize but sincerely hope you learn the message of faith and persevering.
I believe the Philippines is being visited by a great move of the Holy Spirit. I am praying for a move of the Holy Spirit in the USA as it is badly needed. One of the reasons for the greatness of America was sharing the gospel with the rest of the world. As churches withdrew their mission support and brought many missionaries back home, we started to decline as a country. Now we have abortion, no prayer in schools, nothing religious in public places and as a society God gets pushed out of the way. I can guarantee God will not be pushed aside forever. Let us keep the mission work continuing throughout the world and continue to pray for our country.
Father Manuel, Dean of the Southern Mindanao Diocese, is pictured with some of the little ones. He is doing a great job with them. They are learning the basics of life and God.
Please continue to pray for us and support the ministry by sending your check made payable to Love of Jesus Ministries, Inc. PO Box 237081 Cocoa , FL 32923-7081 . Also include your prayer requests so we can pray for you and your needs. I will be returning to the Philippines in August and will need to raise the money for the trip and expenses while I am there.
May God continue to bless you.
Bishop Gene Lilly, Pres of Love of Jesus Ministries and a bishop by God’s grace
